VCE Playlisted Shows
MALTHOUSE PROMPT IS OUR YOUTH AND EDUCATION PROGRAM.
PROMPT / cue, induce, make, motivate, persuade, encourage, stimulate, impel and inspire.
Malthouse Prompt brings students and teachers together with experienced industry professionals. We encourage young audiences and artists to engage deeply with all aspects of our work and hope to provoke robust discussions, debate and reflections on the world around us.
In 2020 we offer two VCE Playlisted productions—The Importance of Being Earnest for VCE Theatre Studies (Unit 3) and Macbeth (This Ignorant Present) for VCE Drama (Unit 3), as well as specially curated workshops and resources. 2020 is also a very special milestone for the Education Program as we celebrate 10 years of our award-winning initiative The Suitcase Series—a program which has never been more acutely relevant.

Malthouse Theatre makes work that fans the flames of radical culture, so there’s always the chance that someone will get naked or say something rude. The nature of devising theatre is that things can change right up until opening night. If we feel that the content of a work may inhibit yours or your students’ enjoyment of the experience we will get in touch. We’ve also provided some Risk Assessment Guidance to assist teachers prepare for excursions to The Coopers Malthouse: Download – Risk Assessment Guidance for Schools
